What is NCF_

The mission of the NCF is to build, support and preserve the integrity of the coaching profession in the Nordic countries. This means that the Nordic Coach Federation is first and foremost The Nordic trade association for coaches. Through the NCF, coaches with different backgrounds and focus can come together to find and create support for growing themselves and their practice.

Our mission is to Build, Support and Preserve the integrity of the coaching profession in the Nordic countries.

We help build by educating and promoting the coaching profession in the Nordic countries. A common PR plan and referral services are key parts of this process.
We support by fostering the community htmlect among members. We provide our members an environment of continuous learning and skill-building so that they may offer their clients the highest possible quality of coaching. Yearly conferences and monthly phone meetings are examples of activities to make this happen.
We preserve the integrity of the coaching profession by actively working in researching and developing programs in the legal, regulatory, and credentialing areas that will serve coaches and their clients.

Global Network

NCF is the trade association for coaches and coaching in the Nordic countries. We are also part of the worldwide network of the International Coach Federation. Our association with the ICF gives us access to an enormous source of knowledge and experience. We can build our work on what has already been tried in other countries and benefit from their results, insights and materials. One concrete example of this is our certification of coaches, where we apply the ICF's strict and well established criteria and procedures.

Certification

Coaching is still a fairly new profession. This means that the NCF has several particularly important tasks in this period. One is working to improve and insure the quality of coaching being offered. Our definition of coaching is one step in this direction, our ethical standards, required of all NCF members, is another. A third, very important activity is our credentialing program for coaches. In this work we build on the important and groundbreaking work done by the ICF in settings standards and procedures for certification of coaches.
